FireBoy & WaterGirl is a cooperative puzzle platformer where two characters with opposite elemental properties work together to clear levels. Players guide Fireboy and Watergirl through five themed worlds including the Forest, Temple, Elements, Cave, and Pyramids. Each world contains multiple stages that require timing, teamwork, and clever use of switches, platforms, and pathways.
The main objective is to collect gold or gems and reach the exits for both characters. Fireboy cannot touch water pools or blue hazards, and Watergirl cannot touch fire or red hazards. Many puzzles require one character to hold a switch or trigger a platform so the other can pass. Levels grow more complex with moving platforms, timed doors, spikes, and enemies that block the path.
