Tomb Raider puts you in control of Lara Croft as she explores a vast, ancient temple full of traps, hidden doors and dangerous animals. Your main goal is simple: find a way out of the temple. To do that you must search every room, pull hidden levers, solve small environmental puzzles and survive combat encounters. The map contains flooded chambers, narrow ledges and secret passages. Some doors open only after you find a lever in an unexpected place or complete a platforming sequence.
Gameplay mixes exploration, light platforming and arcade-style combat. Lara starts with basic weapons and can switch between four weapon types, including a pistol and a shotgun, to deal with packs of wolves, angry bears and swarms of flying rodents. Movement and timing matter: you will jump across gaps, grab ledges, swim through flooded rooms and backtrack to newly opened areas.
