Simple Chess brings the timeless strategy game to your browser with a clean 3D look and easy controls. The game uses a standard 8x8 checkered board with 64 squares. Each side starts with 16 pieces: 1 king, 1 queen, 2 rooks, 2 bishops, 2 knights, and 8 pawns. Your goal is to place the opponent's king in checkmate so it cannot escape capture.
Gameplay follows standard chess rules: pieces move according to their type, pawns advance and capture diagonally, castling and en passant apply where legal, and promotion occurs when a pawn reaches the far rank. You can play a quick solo match to practice tactics or face a friend in local two-player mode. The interface focuses on clarity: select a piece, see legal moves highlighted, and confirm the move. Simple Chess is ideal for players who want pure chess gameplay without extra distractions.
