Classic Chess is a faithful digital version of the traditional 8x8 chessboard. Two players start with 16 pieces each: one king, one queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights and eight pawns. The objective is to checkmate the opponent king by placing it under unavoidable capture. The game follows standard chess rules including castling, pawn promotion, en passant and draw conditions.
Playable modes include single player versus adjustable artificial intelligence and local two-player on the same device. A built-in puzzle solver and tactical problems help you practice openings, middlegame plans and endgames. The interface supports mouse click, drag and tap play.
